Alessandrini’s accent threw me off…

I met our #7 and got me one signature closer to the full team! That’s good goal right?

I believe this is Niky’s Sports first location? If only I had a way of verifying this before posting… Anyway, parking is spotty in this location so I parked a block away at Home Depot and made my way after work.

There was fans a plenty. One guy was selling these large printed pics of Alessandrini for $15 to have signed. Pretty dope. Props to that dude! I opted not to buy since I had my hat for him to sign. I wanna say I waited in line for about 30 minutes before the line started moving and the event started. Saw the Galaxy OG Linda Pickle at the front of the line of course. (She tried to make the Long Beach signing as well, but I saw on FB she arrived a few minutes after Lletget left.)

I loved seeing all the kiddies meeting Drini. I wish I had these types of experiences as a kid. My first experience meeting a soccer player was Memo Ochoa at an Albertsons I used to work at.

Next event I’m gonna try and hit is the Santa Monica Ferris Wheel lighting. Gonna have to leave work early so I’m crossing my fingers I can make it happen. If I do, you’ll see it here! Thanks and Gz Up!

I’m about to meet Alessandreamy!

Niky’s Sports on 7th Street in DTLA

Just got here a few minutes ago, not too many people in line. I think about 20 people in front of me maybe another 10 behind me. Brought my hat for him to sign. Not too sure how this is gonna work, I RSVPd, there doesn’t seem to be order yet. Looking like they just started setting up. Will update later…

Night Navy Jersey reveal

Valentine’s weekend! Fortunately was able to attend to cap off the weekend with my girlfriend! We got to LA Live around 4:45pm and we got in line. Loved seeing all the Galaxy fans! I love checking out the gear, I’m a huge fan of the jackets and I haven’t pulled a trigger on one to buy…. Yet. Finally got in at about 6:15pm and I was amazed at the venue. Galaxy signage everywhere!!! 😍😍😍 Galaxy fans everywhere! Before the main event started here was players scattered throughout and lines formed to get a picture and autographs. I was surprised that players were available and super happy. I don’t have much experience meeting players so my excitement level was high! I took pictures with Chris Pontius, Rolf Feltscher and David Bingham before the main event started.

One criticism I had about this event was the lack of order around the players. The locker room set up seemed to be the only line that was set up and the other were kinda makeshift. This venue, while awesome, is kinda small. Hopefully the event continues to grow and the venue is changed to accommodate more season ticket holders.

On a side note, I’ve been a season ticket holder for a little over a year and I’m already so into how many STH events I’ve been to and have been great. Last year’s Oktoberfest event has me weirdly looking forward to the end of the season.

The Main event was set to start and I heard event workers say there was more room upstairs. We headed to the elevators… Guess what? This venue doesn’t have stairs that we could use. Everyone packed in to the elevator. Beep beep beep… The elevator attendant (cuz this is a club, so of course there’s an elevator attendant) informs us that the elevator is past capacity and people need to wait for the next one. Weak… Should have taken that as a sign we get upstairs and the theater style seating is jam packed. Luckily, I happened to pass an in a hurry Cobi Jones and snagged a selfie. Had I been carrying a sharpie, I would have my hat signed by Cobi Jones! While we’re scrambling to see, Galaxy Front office is on stage and are being interviewed by Rob Stone.

Came back downstairs and settled in to listen, I was so excited to see the players come out so I’ll skip to that! Rob Stone was a great host! He was so comfortable up there and I thought it was great, right before the players were introduced he made a great comment, don’t remember word for word but it was along the lines of “sorry the players are late, GBS had them do a training drill real quick, they ran to that other stadium, took a leak and are headed back now. It was funny, I’m really not doing it justice.

Players came out rocking that Night Navy, everyone cheered for the players and yelled their last name when Rob Stone said their first name. Everyone of course except for #10 whose name escapes me right now. His reception was less than warm and I think you could tell it hurt him a bit. I’m hoping it inspires him and I’m crossing my fingers he’ll prove everyone wrong this season. The visuals of the player intros were great! Those lasers! Smoke! And of course the confetti! So much confetti! This event has me so pumped for the season!

After the players left, Zlatan came out and said Zlatan things when he was interviewed by Rob Stone. Entertaining for sure! I shook hands with Joe Tutino and told him how much I loved his voice and then realized that Juninho was now St the locker room set up!!! I was on my way out of the event so I hurried to get in line. Got him to sign my hat and took 2 pictures with him!

By this point, I was kinda tired and I saw my GF was as well. So after Zlatan finished being Zlatan on stage I headed out. I had expectations for this event and it surpassed them! I’m so glad to be a season ticket holder and be able to attend these events.

About the jersey, thanks to Reddit and Feltscher, I was able to see the jersey earlier in the day. I feel it could have been so much better but it’s still great thanks to the ⭐⭐🌟⭐⭐ and it looks way better on the players than the pics posted online. It has grown on me and I’m gonna buy it soon.

Coming up this week!

#Since96 week! Since I unfortunately am not super rich and need to have a day job, I won’t be attending every event for the week. Gonna try and hit the Ola Kamara meet and greet on Tuesday in Long Beach but that’s not looking likely. Thursday’s Santa Monica event sounds awesome and I think I can make it so hopefully I can and will post about it. Friday’s Supporter group event is gonna be a must for me! And of course, I’ll be at the home opener to finish off #Since96 week.

Who am I?

I’m just a dude who’s in his early 30s who discovered a soccer club almost 10 years ago and has been hooked ever since. It was all started by my good friend Carlos, who incidentally also got me to start this blog. My buddy Carlos sat with the LA Riot Squad. My first game, I was amazed. Everyone was loud and having fun, the chants were a bit vulgar and I loved it! I remembered going to Galaxy games at the Rose Bowl as a kid but they were few and far in between. Also I’ll admit, I never really cared for Soccer or “futbol” back in those days. But this wasn’t those family friendly games I remembered as a kid at the Rose Bowl. It was great! The beers were flowing and it felt like I belonged, even though I knew no one outside of the group of friends I was with. I did my best to learn the chants and threw out an occasional curse at the opposing teams corner attempts that were right by LARS. I went to every Galaxy game I could go, my friend Carlos couldn’t have been cooler about getting me a ticket when he could.

Cut to a few years later, we’re about to start the season and this will be the second year I’m a Season Ticket Holder with LARS and I do my best to get myself to every Galaxy event I can. My goal here is to share my Focus at these events and games with pictures when I remember to take them. Look forward to sharing and as always Gz up!!
